Using art to heal begins with the desire to manifest wellbeing. Before we can manifest wellbeing we must know how illness or wellness affects our reality. What we feel and think MATTERS! What we feel affects our attitude and the emotion around what we are feeling affects how we think. These things combined create the "Field of Consciousness" around our reality. The longer we think about something with an intense emotion attached to it the more likely what we're thinking will become part of our reality. The feelings connected to our thoughts are the keys to attracting what we desire. When I say feeling I'm referring to the "heart." Therefore, anything we can do to help shift our mood the better. If we are struggling with an illness this can be easier said than done. Creating art with the intention of providing healing becomes vital to our hospitals and doctor’s offices.
Ellen Benfatti’s specialty is creating a picture which encourages a “new” feeling and emotional set point. Scientists have discovered that just like prayer and meditation art has the ability to affect the body in the same way. It has been proven that when we are inspired by art our brain produces the same chemicals as a Monk or Priest who has been in prayer and meditation. These chemicals help our minds to relax and experience transcendence. The result is positive emotions that are essential for healing the body. This new emotional set point is more likely to assist the body in responding positively to the traditional medicine, care, or treatments being received. These positive feelings encourage the patient’s body, mind and spirit to work together to create wellbeing. Many times the results of incorporating art into the surrounding environment improve blood pressure; recovery times, as well as reducing the anxiety level in the patient and their families.
Ellen’s desire is that her art will bring healing in hospitals, homes, offices, clinics, wellness centers, recovery homes, schools, and public buildings. She has most recently donated her art to The Boys and Girls Club of America, Girls Inc, and Mountain Shadows Community Homes. Contact Ellie via email to learn more eangel11@gmail.com
